I spent the few days before Christmas shopping, baking, and visiting with family and friends. The PATS won (poorly played game, but a win is a win). It was nice to be able to watch the game with my parents at least once this season!
This was the first Christmas that I didn't wake up and open my stocking and presents with Zack. It was a great day but it wasn't the same. This was also the first year my grandparents didn't come over for breakfast, although they (and Buffy!) did come over for dinner with dad's family.
I hope everyone had a great Christmas! I have to say my favorite gift to give was the cookbook I made for my parents, and my favorite gift I received was the quilt my mom made me!
I spent the rest of my time in Maine hanging out with my family and seeing a few friends! I went to UNH and drove around campus; they are putting up several new buildings and it looks so different!
I flew back on Thursday and have spent most of the weekend cleaning, organizing and doing errands. I finally bought some more furniture, and my living room is starting to look like a "real" room. I spent New Years Eve with friends out in Atlanta and spent New Years day sleeping, watching the PATS, and making breakfast for dinner! Now tomorrow it's back to reality..... at least it's a workshop day so I can ease back into the working world (I love teaching, but I could get used to not working--I was able to do a lot in my two weeks off).
