I've been living in Atlanta for a month now, and teaching at Brown for almost two. A lot of people have been asking how the new apartment and job are so I figured I would create a blog to share what I've been up to in Atlanta and post pictures.

The apartment is coming along....although I must admit I still have a few bags and boxes to unpack. It's been a busy month with the beginning of school and going to Maine last weekend to meet my little pinto bean!!

Teaching has been going well--although challenging. I have found schools to be different than schools in the northeast. I have 27 fifth graders in the smallest classroom I have taught in so far. Needless to say there is NO space to move around, have class meetings, etc. My classroom library is shoved in the corner, although I was careful not to block the only window and "emergency exit". I have been very busy grading papers, creating lesson plans, and trying to get my computer and all the "new technology" to work, which has been quite a challenge!
I am trying to make the apartment look like home in what little free time I have had lately. So far this is what it looks like...

Today I had some free time and deciding to do some cooking now that my kitchen supplies have arrived!

I also did a bit of decorating and bought necessary supplies for the game (that I was very sad I could not watch live).
Well that's it for now! I'll try to update often. Miss everyone back home.....come to Atlanta and visit!!
